Sinaloa.- “In the blood I bring the 701”, can be heard in a fragment of the lyrics of the corrido ‘El Azul’, interpreted in collaboration by Junior H and Featherweight, but, What does the number ‘701’ mean and why is it mentioned in many songs?
“In my blood I bring the 701, lion’s mane, because I come from one. Always rigged, because we are not ass,” says the piece of music in one of its verses.
The figure appears in corridos such as ‘El 701’ of the Alegres del Barranco and in many others, all of them referring to Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán Loera, who before his arrest was one of the leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel (CDS).
What relationship does El Chapo Guzmán have with ‘701’?
It was the second week of March 2009 when the world woke up with not so expected news, Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán was included by Forbes magazine among its list of the richest people in the world.
His name appeared in place 701 rubbing shoulders with businessmen from all industries such as banking, real estate, technology and a very long etcetera.
