In an operation carried out in the rural area of ​​the municipality of Yopal, the authorities managed to capture alias Shirley and another subject, who were allegedly involved in extortion activities.

According to unofficial information, the detainees were allegedly part of a gang linked to the “plain breakers” and were carrying out extortion both in the department of Casanare and in Boyacá. The capture would have occurred in flagrante delicto, while they received money from an extortion in the La Manga village.

It was established that, during the operation, there was an exchange of shots and two individuals managed to escape, while alias Shirley and another suspect who was injured were captured. At the scene, a vehicle was allegedly confiscated and money related to the extortion was recovered.

For the moment, the authorities remain reserved about the additional details of the operation and the legal situation of the detainees. It is expected that official information on this matter will be provided in the next few hours.

Alias ​​Shirley, who is demobilized, could have links to the FARC’s 28th Dissident Front, although this has yet to be confirmed.
