The presidential delegate of Biobío, Daniela Dresdner, came out to de-dramatize the hiring, through direct treatment, of the former senator and former president of the UDI Jacqueline Van Rysselberghe at the Medical Legal Service (SML)who began work as a psychiatrist at the Concepción headquarters this Friday.
On the last day, the regional director of the institution, Jaime Tellezsaid that direct treatment was chosen since “In contests that have been held on quite a few occasions, there has never been a demand of health professionals”.
Regarding militancy of the former parliamentarian, the doctor stressed that “the political factor is not an issue” if it is about carrying out a technical task, like the one he performs today in the SML.
Dresdner spoke along the same lines today, arguing that “what matters to us, and What has taken precedence in this decision is to be able to provide the services that people are needing.. And what we put as a priority is that the people who are going to occupy technical positions, like this person, are trained to be able to do so, to deliver the benefits that people need.”
“We are talking about essential functions for the functioning of the Legal Medical Service, and in that sense, Our objective has been to be able to have people who can fulfill these functionsthat is, the work that is done towards citizenship, and That is what has to take precedence, more than the political party of the person who is fulfilling this technical function,” the regional authority insisted.
According to information provided to Regions CooperativeVan Rysselberghe will only work in the service on Fridaysas part of a program that – according to Tellez – has been delayed since 2018 in terms of psychiatry.
The former senator lost the senatorial race for the Ñuble Region in 2021, after which she announced that she would return to the private world to practice her profession at the German Sanatorium in Concepción.
