Yesterday, on 5th Street and 6th Avenue, in the La Ínsula neighborhood, where for two years Gabriel Antonio Álamos Castillo He built his home, next to his romantic partner, the only thing left was the sadness and pain of knowing that he will not be able to meet the daughter who will be born soon.

On Thursday night, after this 31-year-old man bathed and went out to the porch of his house for a while, to get some air and talk with a brother-in-law, he was murdered.

At 7:00 at night, an unknown person interrupted the dialogue between the victim and his brother-in-law, and after pulling out a gun, he pointed it at Gabriel Antonio, shooting him in the four chances.

After committing the gunshot attack, the gunman ran out to get on the motorcycle that he left parked meters before, while Álamos Castillo tried to get up, but it was impossible and he ended up lying on the floor.

After hearing the gunshots, desperate, the victim’s wife and mother left the house, encountering the unfortunate scene.

Half an hour later, with the help of the community, they took Gabriel Antonio Álamos to a health center, but the shots were devastating and he died.

After what happened, the Metropolitan Police activated a ‘Plan Padlock’ to go after the murderer, but as usually happens, they could not locate him.

Faced with the tragedy, yesterday, the victim’s family only had to remember how excited he was to meet his baby who is on the way.

In addition to that, they remembered the ‘drive’ and resilience, as his mother put it, with which he moved his life forward.

Currently, the victim was recycler and according to his loved ones, there was no threat against him, nor had he been in jail, to involve him in any situation.

Therefore, researchers from the Interinstitutional Homicide Brigade (Brinho) They must establish what the reasons for the murder would be, since the family cannot explain what happened.

Caressing her 5-month pregnant belly and looking towards the room where Gabriel kept the recyclable material that arrived every day, the romantic partner spoke with the victim’s mother about how much they missed the man.

Gabriel Álamos’s mother, who yesterday carried out the procedures to have her son’s body delivered to her and thus say goodbye, assured that she remembers him as a good human being.

“He got up overnight with work and sweat. He was run over here, he was mistreated here and yet he got up,” said Gabriel Antonio Álamos’ mother.

That is why he described him as a man who fought to straighten his life. “I picked it up off the street,” the woman said, while she cried at the thought that it was taken from her.

The man had been in the city for seven years and some time ago he settled in that point of Commune 6, where he had adapted the place as a recycling house.

His projects were so extensive that he wanted to buy a plastic shredding machine to expand his work. Although he will not be able to fulfill his dream, his family ensured that they continued with his project.
