At the close of this edition, it was learned that a man had died while carrying out maintenance on a farm in Medanitos, Tinogasta department. According to the portal elabaucandigital.com, it occurred during the afternoon when Américo Pacífico “Meco” Carrizo (63) was trapped by fire and a dense column of smoke. Residents of Medanitos were the first to arrive at the place, located in a vineyard in the La Banda neighborhood, where the man carried out tasks of cleaning and burning grasslands.
According to the first hypotheses, Carrizo, known in the area for having been an outstanding former soccer player and father of a municipal official, was suffocated by the fire amid gusts of wind. The man was left lying on the ground where he was hit by a burning grassland.
Due to the fact, the Tinogasta prosecutor’s office, headed by Jorge Barros Risatti, intervened, from where it was requested that an autopsy be performed to determine the causes of death. Criminalistics personnel from the Fiambalá Police Station worked at the scene. n
