More rain is expected in Barranquilla and the Atlantic for this week

He first ‘downpour’ of the year in Barranquilla fell this Friday. After several days of humidity and cloudiness, heavy rainfall was recorded in several sectors of the city, which did not worsen. However, the forecast indicates that this weekend the rains will extend in the department of Atlantic and the Caribbean.

“There is a forecast with a lot of humidity in the Atlantic that can turn into rain in the south, center and in the maritime zone of the department. Most of the rain is expected in the afternoon and there will be a maximum temperature of 32 degrees“, explained the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (Ideam).

Likewise, he indicated that a rain alert was issued in the Caribbean Sea.

“Due to rainy weather with possibility of thunderstorms and gusts of wind in the southwest of the Caribbean Sea, an orange alert persists in the territory, as well as a yellow one due to strong wind and waves in the maritime area,” he said.

Additionally, he reported that these conditions will be present for the weekend in the Atlantic and the Caribbean.

“The mostly cloudy conditions with rainfall of varying intensity in the southern Caribbean. It should be noted that the greatest rainfall has been occurring in this region since this Friday,” he explained.
