April 26, 2024. The Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions, IPSE and the Ministry of Mines and Energy, inaugurate the project ‘Puerto Cachicamo Hybrid Plant’ that will supply electricity to the entire district of Puerto Cachicamo, municipality of San José del Guaviare, Guaviare.
“Energy Communities are the key tool for reducing energy poverty in Colombia, communities that now have the possibility of improving their living conditions with the help of solar energy. Today the families of Puerto Cachicamo in Guaviare are part of the great purpose of the Just Energy Transition, to contribute to the development of the territories and the democratization of energy,” said Minister Andrés Camacho.
The project was carried out with an investment of $2,822,719,767. In addition to guaranteeing electric energy service, the plant will benefit nearly 100 families that make up the territory with the strengthening of their productive projects, bringing sustainable and sustainable progress.
“This Hybrid Generation Plant has 266 solar panels with a photovoltaic capacity of 110.3 kW, 48 4,710 Ah batteries and a 23 kW backup diesel generator set. This allows, starting today, this territory of peace to have renewable energy for the first time,” said Danny Ramírez, director of IPSE.
The objective is for Puerto Cachicamo to be part of the Energy Communities, a strategy of the National Government that seeks to decarbonize the economy, as well as increase energy efficiency, decentralize the generation, storage and consumption of energy.
