From July 2 to August 18, the 2024 Pan American Skating Championships will be held in Ibagué.
The competitions will take place in the modalities of speed, artistic and inline hockey.
The Colombian Skating Federation supports the capital of Tolima that advances with the work of setting up and adapting sports venues for international competitions.
The skating festival in the musical capital of Colombia will take place from July 2 to August 18, more than a month of just skating.
The calendar, which was announced this Friday (April 26), for the development of the competitions and their respective sporting scenarios was as follows.
Figure skating will take place at the Coliseo Mayor, from July 2 to 10, nations; from 10 to 21, clubs; from 21 to 23 training and from 21 to 27 rookies.
Speed, it will be run at the World Cup Skatedrome. From July 19 to 21, rookies, from 25 to 31, clubs; August 1 and 2, training.
From the 1st to the 6th, nations and on August 7th a marathon, with a World Cup circuit on Vía Aeropuerto Perales.
Finally, Inline Hockey will be played in the Coliseum Mayor. From August 1 to 6, nations; on August 6 and 7, training and from August 7 to 18 clubs.
Pan American Skating Championships, practically 3 in 1
Alberto Herrera Ayala, president of World Skate America (WSA), thanked the Ibagué mayor’s office and its sports entity (IMDRI) for their support.
Ayala indicated that “there have been months of intense planning, consultation, many conversations to have everything agreed and properly planned.”
For the president of the WSA, “it is a huge event, it is having three Pan American events in one, and that demands a lot of meticulousness in the task of organizing.”
In turn, President Alberto highlighted the possibility of including hosting an Intercontinental Roller Hockey Tournament.
However, the news has not been confirmed and will develop in the coming days. “It would be a continental club championship that, for the senior category, will qualify for the Intercontinental Tournament.”
