Through the development of offensive operations, authorities They found a laboratory for the processing of cocaine hydrochloride on the Alto Mira and Frontera sector, in a rural area of ​​the municipality of Tumaco, Nariño. The uniformed officers discovered that the surroundings of the place had been equipped with 34 antipersonnel mines hidden in the vegetation to stop the public force.

In the La Bodega village of this area, before the operation, an incident of public order disturbance was recorded with more than 100 residents who, instrumentalized by armed groups, tried to prevent the entry of the uniformed officers. The laboratory would belong to the Iván Ríos criminal structure – Segunda Marquetalia de calls itself the Pacific Guerrilla Coordinator of the FARC dissidents.

“This laboratory, with the capacity to produce between 3 and 4 tons of cocaine hydrochloride per month, would belong to the illegal finance subsystem of the armed groups. Tools and equipment such as presses were also evident. hydraulics, compressors, microwave ovens, electric pumps and Martians, the latter known for their metallic structure for the distillation of the narcotic. The area was finally neutralized by authorities using explosives.
