04/27/2024. Intense day of the governor of La Rioja, Ricardo Quintela and president of the PJ of the province of Cuyo, together with several Peronist leaders, held several leadership meetings with the firm intention of rebuilding the PJ in each province and at the level
The first summit of the “Norte Grande” was held in Jujuy, a meeting organized by the Jujuy Broad Front with the participation of the governor of La Rioja Ricardo Quintela and president of the Riojan PJ, the former governor of Salta Juan Manuel Urutbey, the former Secretary of Security of the Nation Sergio Berni, the national senator for Chubut Carlos Lainez, the support of the governor of San Luis, Alberto Rodríguez Saa who sent a message to the meeting, among other political leaders promoting the reorganization of Peronism at the national level. The next meeting will be in Chaco to continue building the political space, the organizers said. Among the Jujuy leaders: Diego Palmieri, Emanuel Palmieri, Quique Moskera (CCC), among other leaders of social organizations.
The slogan of the meeting “The Homeland was forged from the North of the country”, Quintela’s message to the militancy was “with this federal struggle and a deep and reflective look at each province of the Argentine interior, is that we must work for the reconstruction of our Peronist movement and the well-being of our people.”
The Rioja president thanked everyone for participating in the event, and insisted that spaces for dialogue, debate and construction be generated. “We have been going through a difficult path, but we were able to advance a couple of steps and we have to continue advancing much more and for that we have to organize all the Argentine provinces in defense of the interests of the citizens,” Quintela stated in the face of the critical political situation.
Urtubey, former governor of Salta, gave details about his participation in the space and the future projection within the initiative, to be an option at a participatory level. “Happy to visit the province and visit good friends and share the reflection of what this special moment that Argentina is experiencing means and the challenge we have from the North to build tools so that people do not suffer as much as they are suffering.”
“Unfortunately, the Justicialist party is experiencing very significant wear and tear as a result of having distanced itself from the needs of the people. Today there is a government that had a lot of support but is making a terrible adjustment and the challenge is to see how to organize to build a possible destiny for Argentina,” he said.
The former Minister of National Security, Berni gave a conclusion to his visit to the province and the talks held with militants of the Frente Amplio. He also mentioned the situation of the local PJ and expressed that the need for representation must be resolved internally. “I was talking with my fellow militants, with this Broad Front that understands that Peronism must be rebuilt because we have that obligation to the people. From there with the expectation and security that from the North of Argentina we are going to get back on track.”
“When there are no inmates in Peronism these things happen, that is why it is necessary that there are inmates because it is clear that whoever wins leads and those who lose accompany and this has not happened in the last time.”
In that sense, Quintela also gave a conclusion to the activities carried out in the province, the meetings held and the Jujuy PJ. “It was fruitful, they treated me very well, I had many meetings and contact with colleagues and people who gave me strength to continue working. “I spoke with all the leaders about the reality of Jujuy and it is necessary to put differences aside and prepare to have control of the PJ in Jujuy and transform society.”
The party event was framed by delegations from other provinces, and the private security at the site drew attention to the visit of the Rioja president.

In an intense day, Quintela began the agenda with the institutional greeting to Governor Carlos Sadir, then participated in a meeting in the Justicialista Party that is under intervention, and had a talk with leaders. He continued through the provincial legislature where he was received by the PJ bloc, and then greeted the UNJU authorities in the rectorate.

Quintela’s visit to the different spaces of the Jujuy PJ was achieved despite the leadership differences that only respond to the lack of leadership of Peronism in Jujuy that with the visit of the Riojan the objective is to rebuild the party space.
At the meeting at the PJ, the man from Rioja expressed to the leadership that “we have to seek the organization of the PJ in all the provinces and at the national level. Today we do not have strong leadership, we do not have anyone to lead us. Therefore, we need another type of temporary conduction, which is horizontal conduction. We are proposing that there be some governors, the members of the parliamentary board, both the upper and lower House. Some mayors, the CGT, the leaders of the social movements, as a start so that someone can start discussing and produce a document where we can establish a clear position. Of course, not a destructive or aggravating opposition, far from it. A clear opposition of what we think about the situation in the country and what we think about who governs us now.” Quintela thanked national deputy Guillermo Snopek, Senator Carolina Moisés, provincial deputies, Peronist leaders and militants for the call.
In the rectorate of the UNju, Quintela accompanied by the national representative Leila Chaher were received by Liliana Bergesio, vice dean who conveyed the concern of the sector: “we are suffering a strong budget crisis, which is serious because it prevents many students from accessing a university education, we have serious difficulties, we declare a financial emergency” In addition, the president reflected on the serious situation in defense of public education and the enormous response in the streets to the political decisions of the national government.
The president took advantage of the occasion to hold a meeting with students from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Expansión Humahuaca and members of the Fortaleza Universitaria Group.
