Through strategy ‘Barranquilla is River’which was launched this Saturday, the District promotes the contact of citizens with the Magdalena River, through activities that are will develop monthly for family enjoyment.

“We are excited to give Barranquilla, every Saturday at the end of the month, a plan for the city, which will be for everyone’s enjoyment. A meeting point with activities so that Barranquilleros live the experience of contact with the Magdalena River,” said the Mayor Alejandro Char.

This Saturday, the Gran Malecón was the setting to observe the tour made by more than 50 boats along the Magdalena River. In this way, the official beginning of this program took place, which aims to conquer the heart of locals and visitors.

In parallel, a commemorative event was held for the 90 years of the ARC Barranquilla Naval Non-Commissioned Officers School with the training of cabin boys and the unveiling of the monument plaque ‘Marines of Colombia’represented by two anchors belonging to the multipurpose ship ARC Buenaventura.
