According to the National Army, the laboratory would belong to FARC dissidents who instrumentalized to the inhabitants of the La Bodega village, in Tumaco.

This was confirmed by General Carlos Alberto Padilla, commander of the Joint Stabilization and Consolidation Task Force Hercules: “These criminals were found guarding the illegal complex, who instrumentalized the civilian population, gathering between 100 and 200 residents to interrupt the operational work of the Military Forces.”
