One of the neighbors pointed out that among the houses that border the ‘wall of shame’ there resides an oncology patient, who must be transported on a stretcher through the stairssince the ambulance cannot access that entrance to the homes.
Not only ambulances have restrictions to enter, but neither can the vehicles of the General Firefighters Corps of Peru (CGBP) do so in critical situations such as earthquakes or fires. For this reason, the spokesperson for the neighbors who reside in the settlement human He pointed out that they cannot exercise the right to free movement.
“We have a narrow passage of no more than three meters. This wall has been public for more than 60 years (…) There is no way (for firefighters or ambulances to enter). Given this situation, the municipality denied that they had received a request for the collapse of the Wall. The Deputy Directorate of Supervision of the Municipality of Magdalena del Mar, through his representative Luis Rivera, confirmed that the concrete wall is more than 60 years old. “They must always follow a formality to follow the technical and legal procedures and through them they can obtain what they are requesting.
