A trans woman, who was identified as Luciana Román, 25, was found dead in a hotel in Chapinero. According to preliminary information, Román had arrived in the capital from Medellín two weeks ago. “Her goal was to try her luck in Bogotá. She was apparently going to stay for a few days to see how she moved and well, there she sadly found her final fate,” said Mauricio Sánchez, a friend of the victim.

The authorities reported that the body showed signs of violence and are currently analyzing the theory that they are serial killers and investigating three suspects. According to City TV, Román had arrived in Bogotá on April 25. “The Police have identified three alleged perpetrators and the facts are the subject of investigation. Apart from that, next week the authorities will have a dialogue with all the local entities, plus the social sectors, to verify these cases,” said Lieutenant Colonel Gerly Mesa.

“The National Working Group for the Investigation of Violence Based on the Sexual Orientation and/or Gender Identity of the Victims will support activities that allow us to know the truth and find those responsible for this reprehensible act,” wrote the Prosecutor’s Office.
