Huila, which appears as a guest department in the 36th edition of FILBo 2024will celebrate Huilense Literature Day today, Sunday, April 28, with a multiple agenda that will feature the participation of the governor of Huila, Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera, along with the Secretary of Culture, Betsabé Polania Quiza.
Within the cultural agenda that will begin at 10:00 am with the exaltation of the legacy of José Eustasio Rivera In a display of folklore and huilensidad, there is the presentation of the Huila Symphonic Band and the interpretation of the Huilense Sanjuanero dance by the Departmental Queen of Bambuco, Mariana Claros Peña and the children’s queen Heirs of Tradition, Salomé Patiño Covaleda.
In the same cultural venue, Leyder Capaz, composer from the Paniquita indigenous community who has set the work of the Huilense author to music, will perform an oral narration about La Vorágine. In addition, the event will have presentations by folkloric groups that exalt huilensidad.
“I want to offer a fraternal greeting to all the people of Huila and at the same time invite them to join us next Sunday at the FILBo. We will have a tent available for all of you called “books to eat.” We are waiting for you and we are at the Colombia Pavilion to enjoy this important day full of literature and folklore,” said the Secretary of Culture, Betsabé Polania Quiza.
More than 1,000 books for sale, the promotion of 12 Neivan authors and 40 regional writers who were chosen thanks to a public call, will also be part of the academic and literary agenda of the Fair during this day.

The invitation is for Huilenses, Bogotá and Colombians to participate in this important cultural space, which promises to give a literary feast to local, regional, national and international reading lovers, in the celebration of Huilensidad.
