The Cuban authorities carried out the trial against the alleged murderer of the young Yeniset Rojas Pérez, a mother who was reported missing in March 2023 and whose body was not found until early 2023.

The man is accused of kidnapping and murdering Rojas Pérez in the town of Ranchuelo, Villa Clara, where his family searched for several months before finding his remains.

“Today the trial was held against the murderer of Yeniset, for whom his family kept searching, tirelessly, for 10 months until they found his body.”

The aforementioned media indicates that the sentence will be handed down in about 20 days, and recalled that the aggressor had a history of violence and assaults against women.

“Yeniset disappeared in broad daylight when she was returning from work. “She lived with her little daughter and her mother,” CubaNet recalled about the case that generated commotion in 2022.

Summary of the Rojas Pérez case

The woman was last seen alive on March 19, 2022, when she was returning home. On that occasion, her family requested the community’s help in locating her, noting that she would never leave without notifying her loved ones or without taking her young daughter.

It was learned that her family had tried to contact her since the day she disappeared, but her cell phone, which had been ringing until then, stopped connecting the next day, which worried her loved ones.

Tempers began to decline on January 19, 2023, when the police arrested an individual suspected of the disappearance of the young woman, who had a history of violence against women.

“An alleged aggressor is under police investigation for his disappearance, who has a history of violence and assaults against women,” indicated on that occasion the feminist platform Yo Sí Te Creo in Cuba.

One week after the arrest, Rojas Pérez’s sister-in-law confirmed his death through her social networksensuring that his family was going to ensure that “the monster who did this” received the death penalty.
