The darkness and the image of abandonment worry a group of residents of the Frondizi neighborhood in Capital. The community has been waiting for years for the vacant land, located on Leónidas Escudero Street, from Necochea to the bottom of the former Municipal Slaughterhouse, to be transformed into the dreamed green space for the enjoyment of all the families in the area. “It would be ideal, but I don’t think it will happen, at least we want them to close it and illuminate it,” said María Antonieta Ruarte when asked by HUARPE DIARY about what would be the ideal destination for the neighborhood.

According to the woman, the land has been the same for approximately 20 years, the date on which the neighborhood was handed over and the neighbors never had a response from the authorities. It is worth mentioning that there is a file initiated in the Municipality of the Capital that was presented in 2020 and received with the number 1237 and the letter “V”.

“If they can make a square it would be the best, but if not, at least illuminate it. We want to find a solution,” Ruarte said.

As he was able to comment to HUARPE DIARY, the neighbor assured that due to the darkness and the absence of a perimeter closure, the property is a focus of insecurity, since criminals take advantage of it to enter the neighboring houses from the vacant lot. On the other hand, they have also found decomposing animal remains and other types of garbage that generate a bad smell and are a source of diseases and infections.

The Frondizi neighborhood has 527 homes, more than 2,300 inhabitants and is one of the most populated neighborhoods in the City of San Juan.

“Unfortunately, the neighborhood has a VIP area and another non-VIP area. In one sector they have inaugurated plazas and beaches, but in this sector there is never anything,” the neighbor complained.

In this sense, the neighbor said that they were always promised works, but regardless of the political color, they never arrived. That is why she made it clear that this claim is not asking for the sake of asking, but rather that they at least provide more lighting to reduce the incidents of insecurity and avoid the discarding of dead animals in the wasteland.

On the other hand, and in relation to the location of the Frondizi neighborhood, the neighbor said that when the construction of the Ecopark was announced on the property where the Provincial Slaughterhouse operated, they were promised a path and roads with green spaces to enter the property, but nothing was ever done. It should be remembered that this work was “neutralized” by the management of Susana Laciar due to the high cost of its construction.

“We are facing an ambitious project, in which today we find that the National Government owes us an updated sum of close to $1,000 million, and we owe the supplier $50 million pesos. In conclusion, a work that began with just over $500 million pesos, today exceeds $1.5 billion,” said Susana Laciar at the opening of ordinary sessions of the 2024 Deliberative Council.

In this way, the residents of the Frondizi neighborhood have the illusion and imagine in the place a leafy grove, gymnastics equipment, games for children, the Multipurpose Room of the Neighborhood Union, in short, the other side that the space shows today. .

HUARPE DIARY was able to consult the mayor, Susana Laciar, about the problem and the community leader said that measures are being articulated based on the complaints that come from different neighborhoods of the Capital, in which the municipality proceeds to notify the owners of the land .

Along the same lines, sources close to the municipality commented that following the presentation of the file by the residents of the Frondizi neighborhood, the needs of the neighborhood will be taken into account to see how it can be resolved.
