The Ministry of Culture of the province, through the Audiovisual Institute of Entre Ríos (IAER), continues to develop the program Cinema at School in educational establishments in the province.

This week again leaves a positive balance for the team that formed the IAER to tour the 17 departments of the province with the proposal. Six performances were held in two days – last Wednesday and Thursday – for eight rural and urban schools. On Wednesday specifically, it was a joint function in the hall of the Commune of Guardamonte for School No. 34 San Martín de Guardamonte; School No. 54 Ricardo Gutiérrez, from Paraje El Talita; and School No. 18 Manuel Dorrego, from Paraje El Guineo. Also, on the same day, one more function was added for School No. 35 Juan Alberdi, in Durazno.

Meanwhile, on Thursday, a meeting was held between schools No. 8 Román Deheza, No. 6 Héroes de Malvinas, the Santa Rita Special Education School and the Mansilla Parish Institute. It should be noted that in Guardamonte and Durazno, the IAER returned after ten years. The balance of this double day contemplates that five Parajes, Juntas, Comunas and Municipalities were included. And more than 800 people in total enjoyed the double day in the Tala department.

A contribution to pedagogical trajectories

The official initiative, executed with provincial funds, will continue to promote the dissemination of national, regional and international films in rural and semi-urban schools. The objective is to federalize access to culture; disseminate the extensive audiovisual heritage of Entre Ríos, thus reconstructing the collective habit of a cinema screening; and adding a contribution to the school trajectories and pedagogical continuities of children, adolescents and adults.

It should be remembered that the audiovisual materials are chosen jointly by the directors and teachers. The idea is that short and feature films contribute to recreation and entertainment and also promote dialogue, debate and learning about thematic axes that are present in the daily lives of children and adolescents, their families, their neighborhoods and their towns. .

The implementation of the Program Cinema at School As a public policy, it has a vehicle, equipped with screens, projectors, sound and hundreds of audiovisual titles, with the aim of traveling the roads of the province. In this way, cultural proposals are brought to areas far from movie theaters, which have little connectivity or are located in rural areas. Meanwhile, the IAER is already scheduling a new route in another strategic area of the Entre Ríos territory.
