There are just a few days left until the great Holguín parade for May Day, but towns and communities from different municipalities have already held rallies and activities for the date, nuanced with the peculiarities of each place.
Roads and small squares in the eastern province have witnessed the celebrations for World Workers’ Day, which have been characterized by local initiatives, decorations and a lot of union enthusiasm.
According to Yanara Guerrero Batista, member of the Provincial Secretariat of the Cuban Workers’ Central, 38 rallies and parades have been held to date in which more than 49 thousand workers and family members have participated.
Among the activities carried out throughout Holguín, plenary sessions in the form of a carnival in the nickel-bearing municipality of Moa stand out; union assaults on labor groups to promote productive challenges; and artistic presentations with emulative challenges in Gibara.
Until April 30, the celebrations in the communities will continue until 56 events and parades are completed in the eastern territory.
