Former police officer Leonardo Sotelo Delgado voluntarily handed over his cell phone last Wednesday and his defense requested that the device be examined. This was announced by lawyer Leonardo Berber, who is Sotelo Delgado’s defender.

That same day, Berber said in dialogue with the press that in the investigation Sotelo Delgado “was stating the truth of the facts according to what he experienced.” According to what the lawyer reported, the former police officer “denied all the accusations, he indicated that it was a false complaint, totally concocted by the complainant out of retaliation, revenge, due to the separation and due to the complaints that he had made.” carried out previously (against his ex-partner).”
Berber considered that the complaint by Sotelo Delgado’s ex-partner “has no basis” and announced that they will advance with “the evidentiary material that we have at our disposal to prove Mr. Sotelo’s innocence.”
On the other hand, they asked him why Sotelo Delgado was a fugitive from Justice for six days. In the case of gender violence, last Tuesday, Sotelo Delgado was charged with the crimes of “sexual abuse with carnal access aggravated by causing serious damage to the victim’s health”, “illegitimate deprivation of liberty” and two acts of “threats”, all committed against his ex-partner, supposedly.
The prosecutor of Investigation No. 8, Sebastián Pelisari, formulated the accusation against him. Investigator Pelisari requested a detention control hearing for the accused. With this, he seeks to ensure that the subject continues to be deprived of his freedom. The procedural act will take place next Tuesday in the Guarantee Control Court.
