The efforts of deputy Miguel Ángel Calisto allowed this rural electrification project to be carried out that will benefit the residents of kilometer 23 of the Aysén-Coyhaique route.

The leaders of the “La Paz” rural electrification committee of Puerto Aysén and the deputy Miguel Ángel Calisto described the imminent connection to electrical energy as great news.

The fact was confirmed in a meeting they held with the mayor of Puerto Aysén, where the parliamentarian highlighted the importance of allocating resources to this type of projects that improve the quality of life of the residents.

According to Deputy Calisto, after many efforts, a rural electrification project for kilometer 23 on the Aysén Coyhaique route is being finalized. “This will allow us to benefit many neighbors who started this project a few years ago. This is a certainty of electrification for many other neighbors who continue to populate this sector.”

“We are happy, happy for the work of the leaders, including Juan Ribera and Celeste Quelín. The importance of these rural electrification committees must be highlighted, as well as the importance of the rural drinking water committees. That is where the focus, attention and resources of the Regional Government must be placed, to allow people to live better, especially in rural sectors,” he indicated.

Calisto pointed out that “in the rural sectors there has been explosive growth, both in Coyhaique and Puerto Aysén. Many people leave due to the lack of housing supply in the cities and the more rural sectors are an alternative that offers a better quality of life. This also benefits the cities, so that there is not so much overcrowding.”

According to Celeste Quelín, member of the Pro Adelanto la Paz committee, “we are very happy, because thanks to Deputy Calisto, who made the arrangements first with Edelaysén and now with the mayor of Puerto Asyén, we finally have good news and they are going to connect us to the light, which is a long-awaited project. “We’ve been waiting four years for this, so it’s great news.”

For her part, Juana Ribera, who is also on the board of the committee, “we really left this meeting very happy today, since we have been fighting for many years to have light in the sector where we live. We have had good news, because they confirmed that in mid-May we will be connected.”

Finally, the leader stated that “we thank Congressman Calisto very much and we believe that with his management with the manager of Edelaysén we were able to unravel this issue that has been very cumbersome. This has helped us get to know these processes that we had no idea how they were done. “He who perseveres ends up moving things forward.”
