The heavy rains that are hitting the country these days almost ended up causing a tragedy in Cali. The rainfall in the city has caused fallen trees, affected power lines, short circuits, floods, traffic accidents and high level of the canals.
Domestic animals, such as dogs, have also felt the ravages of the climate. One of them was a dog that was left alone in her house and almost jumped out of the window. The video was recorded on social networks and has caused outrage in the community.
“The dog has been there for three hours. It is a fourth floor, the family is not there, there is no one,” they are heard narrating in the video that was known on social networks and that soon went viral.
“They already arrived, they left a piece of the window open and surely with the thunder and the storm this afternoon he got scared and went out,” says the woman who recorded.
The good news was that the neighbors themselves asked for help from the firefighters, who came to rescue the animal.
“This was the heroic rescue of a dog that was about to fall from a fourth floor in Cali yesterday, in the middle of a strong storm. “This dog who was alone in her house was so afraid of the thunder that she looked for an exit through one of the windows of the apartment,” they said on the X animalista page. @PlataformaALTOwho also highlighted the work of the community.
“Unable to move, the dog remained on the ledge of that window for hours. But a citizen who was passing by left all her commitments aside to save the dog. She called the authorities, neighbors, protectionists, among others, until the Cali fire team came to her rescue. A million thanks to this citizen and the Cali fire team. All lives are valuable,” they said on social networks.
In the video you can see how the fire team arrives in their truck, takes out a ladder and does all the rescue work.
As soon as one of the firefighters took the furry boy in his arms, congratulations, cheers and applause were felt. The pet was checked by veterinary staff and pampered by the entire community.
It is unknown if the animal will continue in the care of the owners who left the apartment and did not close the window or will go through the adoption process.
