This Sunday, Governor Ignacio Torres participated in the delivery of 2 new homes to residents of Trelew, in an event that was accompanied by officials from the provincial and municipal cabinets, representatives of the UOCRA and residents of the town.

In his speech, the provincial leader said he was very satisfied with the reactivation of the works, highlighted the importance of having one’s own roof and thanked the construction workers, and the Municipality of Trelew, for getting involved in the completion of the homes that were delivered.

Stopped works that were reactivated

In addition, Governor Torres highlighted the speed with which the works for the UOCRA neighborhood were unblocked, reactivated and completed. In this regard, he noted: “The construction of these homes was delayed for 4 years due to lack of price adjustments, and in 4 months of management we managed to reactivate the work, finish two homes and move forward with the remaining four of a total of nine homes that were projected for this sector of the city.”

Likewise, the provincial leader stressed the value that public works have in the recovery of the economy and the generation of jobs. “Today is a Sunday of joy, because there are two families who are going to have their own home, and it is also a Sunday of joy for the families who, thanks to this work, have jobs,” Torres explained, adding that “that is the true importance.” that public works have: that of generating work and boosting the economy.”

Establish priorities and demand recovery

On the other hand, the governor of Chubut remarked that “when we took office there were a lot of stopped works, many of them due to laziness or corruption,” and indicated: “Of all these works, we established priorities by talking to people in different parts of the city. province, and we decided to reactivate them.”

Likewise, Torres was forceful with the future demands for the provincial housing programs and assured that “we are going to demand payment of the fee from the beneficiary families again, because this ‘recovery’ is what gives other families the possibility of have their own home, and, above all, it allows construction workers to have a genuine source of employment.”

With austerity, but without ceasing to bet on public works

Torres also spoke about the conditions in which the province received upon taking office, and said that “Chubut had a record debt, the largest in its entire history,” while highlighting that “with responsibility, austerity and commitment, we were able to overcome the financial obstacles and, little by little, and in conjunction with the mayors, reactivate and begin to finish all the works.”

Finally, the governor of Chubut emphasized: “Regardless of who is in the National Government, this provincial government will continue to bet on public works, development and work for all Chubut residents.”

The dream of your own roof

At the end, the governor toured the homes with the new winners and the authorities present and once again congratulated the new owners for having made the dream of their own roof come true.

It should be noted that the homes remained under the ownership of the families of the UOCRA workers who benefited from this delivery. These homes have a constructed area of ​​50 square meters, located on land that contemplates the possibility of expansion.

Also present at the delivery were provincial officials Andrés Meiszner, Nicolás Cittadini, Sergio Wisky, Rodrigo San Martín and Guillermo Aranda; also the president of the Provincial Institute of Housing and Urban Development (IPVyDU), Federico Estevez; the Secretary of Government of Trelew, Mario Romeo; the president of the Trelew Deliberative Council, Claudia Monají; and the secretary of the UOCRA, Claudio Paredes.

It is important to highlight, finally, that the Municipality of Trelew received the delegation of the work from the IPVyDU and worked quickly together with UOCRA to complete this new and long-awaited stage.
