Guantánamo – A group of prestigious union leaders, labor groups, and prominent workers and workers, with active participation in the economic and social development of Guantanamowere decorated in a solemn ceremony held this Saturday at the Mariana Grajales Cuello Revolution Squareon the eve of the celebrations for the May Day, World Proletariat Day.

The event was headed by Yoel Pérez García, top political leader in the eastern territory; Carlos Manuel Turro, vice-governor at the same level, and Juana Eglis Fernández Louit, general secretary of the Cuban Workers Central (CTC) in the Cuban Upper East.

The Lázaro Peña Order of III Degree was awarded to six workers with recognized experience in production, defense and services, at the proposal of the Council of State and the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC).

Other union members received the Jesús Menéndez and Hazaña Laboral medals, while several members of the National Association of Innovators and Rationalizers (ANIR) were awarded the October 8 Seal, for their contributions to solving problems in production and services. .

Fernández Louit, the highest union leader in the province, congratulated the recipients, highlighted their respective moral values, while ratifying that this May Day, International Workers’ Day, will be a great event to support the indestructible unity of the worker-peasant alliance. , committed to the process of updating and reactivating the local economy.
