Twenty years after the tragic accident on April 28, 2004 that took the life of 21 children and two adults from Colegio Agustiniano Norte, their families and friendsThey held liturgical acts to remember the legacy of the victims.

In the Primate Cathedral in the Plaza de Bolívar parents, friends and students Colegio Agustiniano Norte attended a Eucharist in which the mayor was present, Carlos Fernando Galan.

He Bogotá Fire Department made a street of honor so that families and survivors will go through who today demand safety on the roads for the country’s children.

“It is a tribute in many ways. Every 28th I post images and messages, but today was more special than every year. They are always in our hearts, but now we remember them with joy and ask that children be able to travel safely on the roads. This cannot happen to anyone again, it is very painful,” said one of the attendees.

The parents planted a tree for each child, which bears their name in species such as Oak, Pine, Alder and Guamo.

The image I have is of children asking for help, of children screaming.. That day I felt helpless for not lifting the gigantic machine that fell on the bus. The children who were in those first three rows were witnesses to that accident. They were very difficult moments that I will always carry in my mind,” said Brigadier José Sánchez, the first firefighter to arrive at the scene of the accident.
