Governor Llaryora closed a difficult agreement with the state authorities

Although the process of approval by the delegate assemblies remains, between late Friday and Saturday night, the Secretary General of the Interior, David Consalvi, verbally closed the equal with the majority of the unions of the provincial public administration. If there are no last minute setbacks, they would sign the agreement on Monday afternoon.

The Union of Superior Personnel (UPS), the hierarchical union led by Domingo Ovando, was the first to sign the agreement on Saturday afternoon.

This will allow the provincial government to pay the Police and other security forces their April salary with an 8.5% increase.

The last negotiations were secretive and the details of the agreement were not disclosed. It is known that it was done on the basis of the 8.5% increase for April that teachers will receive (UEPC), but some sectors will receive a greater increase.

The strategy was to negotiate directly with each union the amount that the Province allocated to each sector, and the union members themselves chose the way of distributing those resources.

There was a request from the unions to suspend the discount from the Chronic Disease Fund (Fosaet) for this month, which means 4,700 pesos for each state social work card (Apross). Everything indicates that the Province would have accepted the request, but during the weekend there were no certainties in this regard.

El Panal celebrated the “black week” of De Loredo

“How can we not be happy. We won him the Bar Association and we had a picnic with the march and the whoring he engaged in. “It was a black week for De Loredo.” Exultantly, a voice very close to Governor Martín Llaryora boasted that he was enjoying days in which national deputy Rodrigo de Loredo “doesn’t get one.”

The reference alludes to the bad moment that the president of the UCR bench in the Chamber of Deputies of the Nation had last Tuesday, when he was rebuked and insulted while he was preparing to participate in the march in Córdoba in defense of public universities. Later, De Loredo would say that he is used to being insulted, he assured that he has “tough skin” and blamed Kirchnerism and the PJ for the situation experienced.

There was also an official celebration for the result obtained by Lryorism bishops in the election of authorities of the Córdoba Bar Association. “We doubled De Loredo’s list in votes,” they highlighted from the Panal. As is known, Eduardo Bittar won those elections after defeating Mariano Jándula, the Deloredista bet to regain control of the College.

On De Loredo’s side they rescue the choice made by Jándula, who obtained four members for the minority. In addition, they take away the drama from the insults received in the march. “It was a tiny group. Everything within the foreseeable. In the coming days we will make serious progress in the Deputies to fight and provide answers for the financing of universities,” said a person close to the radical.

Passerini goes to Rosario in search of more than signs for the future

The meeting of mayors of capitals and alternative cities that will be held this Monday in the city of Rosario will try to be a kind of preview of the “May pact”, scheduled for the end of next month in Córdoba.

A few weeks ago, and after a first meeting at Casa Rosada between mayors and the Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, it was agreed to hold an expanded meeting at the end of April. This Monday, the Santa Fe city of Rosario will be the epicenter of that call.

The mayor of the capital Daniel Passerini has very moderate expectations for this first formal meeting, but believes that it is the necessary path to begin a more institutional dialogue with the national government, in search of unlocking funds and recovering financing for works, which in the first case were removed and in the second, stepped on.

Regardless of what they can obtain for their administrations, on the political level Passerini seeks to consolidate his profile as leader and spokesperson for the group of capital mayors. During the summer, when President Javier Milei decided to cut transportation subsidies, the man from Córdoba occupied that role.

Among Passerini’s priorities, the idea of finding alternative financing avenues to sustain the transportation system continues. With national subsidies falling, this front became extremely complex. Furthermore, it has as its own complement the impromptu departure of the company Ersa, which detonated the corridors it was in charge of.

“The works issue is completely stopped by the Nation and we do not see anything in the medium term, but we are going to push to achieve some type of recomposition of funds for transportation. Each mayor has his own problems in his city, but there is a consensus that we have to achieve something for transportation. At least, obtain some commitment for later,” said an official with an office in the 6 de Julio Palace.

The “May pact”, without “base law”?

This Monday, the debated “base law” will begin to be debated in the Chamber of Deputies, which could have half a sanction on Tuesday night if the deadlines agreed by the libertarians and the “dialogue” blocs are met.

Both the ruling party and the opposition are optimistic in the Lower House, but the “porote” of affirmative votes is worrying in the Senate, where Kirchnerism has 33 senators.

President Javier Milei had said – bluntly – that without “base law” there is no “May Pact.” The appointment for the signing of the agreement remains May 25, in the city of Córdoba.

Due to the complications that libertarians have in the Senate, it is very unlikely that the norm will be definitively sanctioned before that date.

Given this situation, collaborators of Governor Martín Llaryora made it clear that if the “base law” is approved on Tuesday without major problems, the summit in Córdoba will take place even without the approval of the Senate.

The Minister of the Interior, Guillermo Francos, would have told the majority of the governors that the “May pact” would not be in danger if there are no surprises in the Deputies. Furthermore, he revealed that the President will not invite opposition governors who speak out against it. The main target is Axel Kicillof from Buenos Aires, but also Gildo Insfrán, from Formosa; Ricardo Quintela, from La Rioja, and Sergio Ziliotto from Pampa.

If so, the President, once again, will have to adapt his speech to reality: it seems that there will be a “May pact”, but without a “base law.” Or, at least, only with the half penalty of the norm.

Giordano continues to reap the fruits of Milei’s mistreatment

The economist Osvaldo Giordano is an atypical case: perhaps the only public figure revalued after the mistreatment of President Javier Milei, who kicked him out of Anses in retaliation for the negative vote of his partner, deputy Alejandra Torres, during the treatment of the “omnibus law”.

After that departure, Giordano took over as head of the Ieral of the Mediterranean Foundation and even in the most extreme ruling party it is accepted that this dismissal was a political mistake by Milei.

The most striking thing is that the former Minister of Finance of the Province of Córdoba has also been revalued in sectors of Peronism that always appreciated him for technical reasons, but ignored him in political terms: Giordano for years aspired to be a candidate for mayor of Córdoba, and He never achieved party support.

Last week there was a clear example of this phenomenon: the PJ sector led by Senator Alejandra Vigo summoned him as a speaker for the relaunch of the City Design Institute.

“Osvaldo gave us a clear vision, not only about the role of the State, so current these days, but also about its functioning; a look to settle the debate between the adjustment, on the one hand, and the ordering, on the other,” Vigo published after the meeting organized by the senator and the legislator Leonardo Limia, which was attended by more than 300 leaders.

Does a candidate for the Mayor resurface? Or does a candidate for deputy emerge for 2025?
