Brian Ferro, a 25-year-old young man, publicly denounced that he had surgery two weeks ago on the wrong lung at the San Martín Hospital in Paraná. The young man went to the hospital for a problem in that area and underwent surgery but, when he woke up, he realized that the operation was on the right side, not the left.
The patient, a native of San Benito, told Report 100.7: “I arrived at the San Martín hospital by ambulance due to a hemothorax in my left lung. They admitted me to surgery, it was very quick, but they had done a drain on my right lung, which was healthy.”. “It was all kind of shocking, at that moment I had anesthesia, but I realized it was the wrong lung because I still had the same pain.“added the complainant.

“The doctor, whose name I don’t know whether to say, When he saw what they did to me, he immediately ordered them to send me to surgery in a very bad tone.. “They anesthetized me again and when I woke up I had the drainage where it belonged.”he recalled.

When asked about his current state of health, the young man stated: “I feel bad. I get up, I take a few steps and I get tired, it’s hard for me to go to the bathroom, I can’t walk. I’m not the same, my body is not the same” and noted: “I feel pain in the wounds on the inside, more so when I go to sleep. I am on antibiotics, diclofenac and paracetamol”.
Finally, he commented that, when assisting the healing of the surgical stitches, he developed pus: “I got an infection on the left side, the right side is fine. Inside I feel pain and on the outside I feel like the flesh is asleep”he noted.
