They dismantled a gang that hunted deer in Bariloche: they investigate alleged illegal trade

A group of agents from the Rio Negro Police dismantled a gang dedicated to hunting animals in Bariloche. They investigate alleged trade in deer antlers, heads and meat through falsified official documents.

The operation began a few weeks ago, when the authorities identified several people who were involved in an act of rustling, which occurred in near a private ranch, on Route 80.

The analysis of the documentation exhibited by the offenders gave rise to continuing the investigations. This weekend four raids were carried out at homes in Bariloche, in which evidentiary material was seized.

Among what was seized, the agents found 32 deer heads with their respective antlers, some of which were ready to be sold. Each deer head with its respective antlers oscillates in the market between $200 and $400 thousand.

During the operation, they were also detected fake hunting permitssupposedly issued by owners of different ranches and fields in the region in order to capture specimens.

The suspects were previously surprised in different operations, which shows that they have been carrying out this illegal activity for a long time.

It was an unprecedented work, commanded by the Rural Brigade of the Andean Zone, dependent on Regional Unit III. The investigation is in full progress, so new measures are expected.
