“We have completed all the documentation and financially we gave priority to the purchase of the doses,” said Jaldo.

With the presence of the governor Osvaldo Jaldo In the Emergency Directorate of the Province, vaccination against dengue began this morning for Tucumán workers who provide essential services, such as employees of the Provincial Health, Education and Security System.

The president announced that since the 100,000 doses of the first vaccine will not be used in this entire group, they will continue with the groups of Tucumán “according to what international and national health protocols indicate.”

Jaldo confirmed that in less than 10 business days the Province is vaccinating against this disease, after announcing on April 15 the purchase of 200,000 vaccines for both doses. “We have completed all the documentation, financially we gave priority to the purchase and today in 107 we are administering the first vaccine,” he indicated.

In addition, he highlighted the importance of vaccination because “the personnel who fulfill essential roles expose their lives to care for the people of Tucumán, such as those who make up the Provincial Health System (Siprosa).” “Today we started with the 107 personnel who are on the street traveling through the Capital and Interior and enter homes and are more exposed to infections,” he added.

The head of the EP announced that “we are going to vaccinate on several fronts but we give peace of mind to health personnel, those who care for and educate us, teachers and the police. “We have purchased enough doses to vaccinate these three sectors that provide essential services,” he said.

The dengue vaccine does not have an immediate effect

“The vaccine does not have immediate effect but we are preparing for next year and it finds us in the best position,” the Governor made it clear, which is why he insisted that the operation (of the purchase) is 100% done and we have already carried out the first payment”.

Regarding the vaccination schedule, the governor explained that “after these doses we will have a significant surplus since the 100,000 is not for essential personnel, so according to the protocol indicated by international and national organizations we will continue vaccinating ”.

“Tucumán is making reservations to see how the disease evolves in the region and in Argentina. “We are not going to hesitate to continue investing in vaccines for people who do not belong to essential services who want to be vaccinated,” she concluded.

Jaldo was accompanied by the Minister of Health, Luis Medina Ruizthe Medical Executive Secretary, Daniel Amadothe head of Emergencies, Francisco Barreiroamong other health officials.
