1-0 in Nueva Italia due to Rivero’s goal

New Italy Racing won 1-0 Quilmesin one of the most outstanding matches of date 13 of the Primera Nacional 2024. The match was played at the Miguel Sancho stadium and was refereed by Juan Pafundi.

At 17 minutes the advantage came for the albicelestes. Matías Ferreira, visiting defender, fouled midfielder Nicolás Sánchez and the referee awarded a penalty. And, at 19, he kicked it Facundo Riverowhich he defined barbaric: above and to the right of goalkeeper Esteban Glellel.

With this result, which meant Quilmes’ first fall in the tournament, the team technically led by Juan Carlos Olave reached 17 points and was in 11th place; while his opponent stayed at 23 units, one less than San Martín de Tucumán, the leader.

On the next day, the Academy will be a visitor to Climbing Remedies Workshops, on Tuesday, May 7, at 3:05 p.m. While Quilmes will be the home of Alvarado de Mar del Plata, on Sunday, May 5 at 9 p.m.

The first in each zone will compete in the final for the first promotion. The second to eighth in each group will compete for the second promotion in the Reduced.

And the last in each zone will lose their category. While the second to last in each group will play against each other: the loser is relegated.

The bad thing about Nueva Italia night was Juan Bono’s injury. The Racing forward entered 29 minutes into the second half and was only on the court for five minutes. He unfortunately suffered an injury to his left knee. He left the court crying.

What happened in the match between Racing and Quilmes

The Academy started in order, knowing what they have to do. It seemed that things were clear in the players’ heads. So much so that, 17 minutes into the first half, the academics were so close to the goal that they gave Nicolás Sánchez a penalty.

Without his scorer Bruno Nasta on the court, the one in charge of making it 1-0 was defender Facundo Rivero.

Those led by Juan Carlos Olave remained orderly and firm. Even so, the Brewer showed why they are second in the area, with character they went forward and caused danger to the local team.

The Academy finished the first half with superiority, but they have to score one more goal to be comfortable. Likewise, Mattalia made a great save to maintain the lead on the scoreboard.

As usual, the second half started uphill for the Olave team. Quilmes knew that he had to go for the tie, and so he did.

El Cervecero was dominant until 25 minutes into the second half, when Racing knew how to wake up and understood that you have to balance the result, but not give up.

The scares were not left out, because all of Sancho was silent when Mattalia fell to the floor due to muscle discomfort, but the scare remained when the goalkeeper got up and continued in the match.

The Academy regained its offensive instinct, when Oyola almost scored the second in the 34th minute.

In any case, Quilmes wanted to save some point anyway, so he continued to insist and create danger.

Even so, Racing knew how to withstand the arrivals of the needy Cervecero with the memorable saves of Joaquín Mattalia.

After a draw against Ferro and a defeat against San Miguel, the Academy returned to victory and maintained its illusion of being ungrateful to the Reduced.

The only thing left was the bad news of Bono’s injury.
