In the last few hours, two members of the Jacobo Arenas structure of the self-proclaimed Central General Staff of alias Iván Mordisco died in combat with the Army. This military action is part of the Military Forces’ operation Mantus, which counteracts the criminal actions of the armed group. According to figures from the Public Force itself, nearly 50 FARC dissidents have died in the midst of this strategy.

The events occurred in the rural area of ​​Guapi. The troops arrived at the site guided by technical and human intelligence information, which revealed the presence of this structure, which was accused of various terrorist actions such as homicides, attacks against the Public Force, displacement and forced recruitment, drug trafficking and extortion.

At the site, the Military Forces deployed a broad offensive maneuver. That is when the dissidents attack the troops and the combat takes place that resulted in the death in the course of military operations of two members of that structure. Likewise, in the maneuver two rifles, two 60mm mortar grenades, electric detonators, explosives, communications equipment, quartermaster material and abundant ammunition of different calibers were seized.

Likewise, the possibility of forced recruitment of minors by this terrorist group continues to be reduced and minimized. In the area of ​​​​the events, the General Command of the Military Forces ordered the strengthening of the security device to continue advancing the search for this criminal commission.
