Judge Adrián Grünberg presents this Monday at the Book Fair the Manual on State Terrorism in Argentina. The text, published by Editorial Octubre, aims to convey in a clear and didactic way what State terrorism in Argentina consisted of in a context like the current one in which memory alone does not guarantee Never Again. He will be accompanied by Adolfo Pérez Esquivel , “Taty” Almeida and Hugo Soriani.

The presentation will be at 7 p.m. in Sala Carlos Gorostiza, located in the Yellow Pavilion. It is one of the many activities that Grupo Octubre prepared for the 2024 Book Fair.

Grünberg’s book does not seek to be a work aimed at academics but, on the contrary, aims to ensure that the painful events suffered can be known, mainly, by the young generations. Above all, in these times when denialist speeches reappear that attempt, by different means, to distort the truth, force a counter-march of justice and trample on the dignity of memory. Along these lines, he proposes that in the face of these attacks, the only thing left to do is to continue with the trial of those responsible for state terrorism and hold high the banners of truth and memory.

In your text Grünberg promotes the slogan that the exercise of memory must be complemented with a permanent attitude of alert that carefully observes the performance of public authorities, tending to the unavoidable obtaining of justice and continuing to provide various forms of knowledge about the greatest tragedy our country has suffered.

As Pérez Esquivel says in the prologue, “democracy is built with the participation of the people and, to make it a reality, it is necessary to generate critical awareness and values to discern and be able to resist the attempts of those who try to impose totalitarian governments.” and the denial of a past that is present and that the people should not forget.”
