Bullrich said that they will apply the anti-picket protocol “in all its dimensions”

Finally this Monday, the key project of the Government of Javier Milei which has been debated between political intersections and tensions for several months in Congress, the “base law”will begin to be discussed in the Chamber of Deputies.

The head of that body, Martín Menem, convened the legislators at 12 and will begin a marathon session that he hopes to close on Tuesday with the approval of the projects.

The changes made in the majority opinions left the PRO, the radicals, the group of Miguel Ángel Pichetto (We Make the Federal Coalition) and the provincial deputies grouped in Federal Innovation a little more satisfied. That is, to the dialogue opposition. This panorama is already very different from what LLA experienced when, in extraordinary sessions, it debated the Omnibus law for the first time. These last-minute agreements left Banco Nación aside from public companies authorized to enter a privatization process.

The Minister of National Security, Patricia Bullrich, confirmed this Monday that the anti-picket protocol will be carried out in the vicinity of the National Congress, after the confirmation of left-wing and Peronist protesters of a march, at the time of the treatment of the Base Law.

“Anti-picketing protocol, always. Then there are the characteristics of the marches, that when they exceed the possibility of not using the sidewalk, well… Like the other day in the university march,” said the national official in dialogue with A24.

And he assured: “Today in front of Congress, and even more so in front of Congress, where we have had bad experiences, we are going with the anti-picketing protocol in all its dimensions.”

With the majority opinion of the fiscal reform package sent by the National government, the reversal of the Income tax for the fourth category began to materialize, a tax whose contribution is essential for the provinces to recover revenue.

Although the Government recognizes that there could be differences in the particular discussion of the reversal of the Income Tax and the labor reform, they are optimistic that there will be an agreement after the session of the “base law” and the fiscal package.

Now, they observe in the Executive, the eventual half-sanction of the regulations seems more than likely. The future discussion in the Senate, where the numbers are tighter and where Peronism has an important weight, will demand an additional effort from the ruling party.

In the run-up to the debate in the lower house, Javier Milei himself, in some way, de-escalated the tension by authorizing negotiating changes to the megaproject and by framing it in the future rubric of the May Pact with which he aspires to lay the foundations of at least ten state policies.

“It is an issue that Minister Francos is dealing with very intensely, so he has better details of how this comes about. Every time I talk to Francos I see him as very optimistic,” the President admitted this Sunday in dialogue with Radio Rivadavia.

In recent weeks, the offices of the Ministry of the Interior were the scene of meetings with members of the different “dialogue” blocs where the points in dispute were agreed upon. These meetings, added to the subsequent sending of the drafts to the heads of the legislative blocks and the governors, ended up feeding “a consensus” regarding the Bases law and the fiscal package.

However, Milei once again made it clear that if the debate on the initiative fails again, he will continue promoting reforms without the agreement of Parliament. “We are having enormous economic and security achievements, we are recognized for what we are doing worldwide. Politics was trying to put a spanner in the wheel all the time and despite politics we are achieving it and we are not going to change course,” he emphasized this Sunday to La Nación +.
