The director of the CAR Cundinamarca, Alfred Ballesteros, was firmly re-elected

The Council of State confirmed the re-election of the director of the Regional Autonomous Corporation (CAR) Cundinamarca, Alfred Ballesteros.

The decision was made by the high court by denying the claims of a lawsuit that alleges that Ballesteros served more than two terms as general director of the corporation.

In its considerations, the corporation specified:

• “The functions of general director were entrusted to Mr. Alfred Ignacio Ballesteros Alarcón, in the event of the temporary (not absolute) absence of the owner. The only act that demonstrates an election of the defendant in the position of general director, prior to the appointment that is now demanded, corresponds to Agreement 016 of July 27, 2012.

The Court also concluded that Ballesteros has only been re-elected once, through Agreement 26 of 2023: “This is the case, given that It was not proven that the defendant had been re-elected on more than one occasionthe denial of the claims of the lawsuit is imposed.”
