Last Friday, in the courtroom of the Chajarí judicial courts, it was decided to refer a case about “sexual abuse with aggravated carnal access” to trial. It holds a man accused of abusing his granddaughters in preventive detention. The perpetrator will be subjected to popular trial. With this, there are three jury trials that Chajarí will have in the remainder of 2024.
As reported by CHAJARI AL DIA weeks ago, another of the causes that was also raised to be determined by the popular jury is the one that accuses a parent of abuse, after a complaint made in 2023.
On the other hand, a popular jury must also decide on a homicide case. This is the case that was investigated for the death of a woman, an event that took place on March 14 in San Pedro. In the case, Jacinto Maidana is detained and charged, accused of aggravated homicide, the victim being his partner Natalia Benítez.
As the defendants are in preventive detention, the deadlines for the process would indicate that the three jury trials must take place during the next half of the year.

A local judicial official highlighted the fact that Chajarí has three jury trials soon, considering that it is important for citizens to be informed about this modality. It is a civic duty where it is debated whether or not a peer is convicted of a certain crime. She struggled to lose the fear of participation that invites an innovative experience.
