We continue the work to bring to a successful conclusion the liability cleanup plans that were successfully started by former governor Carlos Caicedo, who managed to have eight ESCOs classified as ‘without financial risk’ by the Ministry of Health.
The fiscal recovery of the Magdalena hospitals is one of the prioritized goals in this government, now led by Rafael Martínez, who since 2020 brought Change to the department by beginning to organize the hospital network that was found looted, trampled by politicking and in hands of corruption. Under the management of former governor Carlos Caicedo, eight State Social Enterprises (ESE) in the department were classified as having no financial risk by the Ministry of Health.
Giving continuity to these Results, Governor Rafael Martínez, through the Sectional Secretariat of Health, achieved a rapprochement with the intervening agent of the New EPS, Julio Alberto Rincón, in order to establish a strategic shock plan to resolve the gaps created in assistance services due to the lack of payment by this entity to the departmental ESCOs.
“One of the objectives of this meeting was the cleaning up of the portfolio that this EPS has with hospitals, which amounts to more than $339 billion, approximately. Likewise, make a contractual agreement focused on the people of Magdalen, which strengthens Primary Health Care with ‘Médico en Tu Casa’ and the use of technologies that facilitate diagnosis, decision-making and constant care of the Basic Health Teams,” expressed Xiomara Ramos, departmental Health Secretary.
Another point that the official mentioned as part of this meeting was the financing of a predictive and preventive health system, which prevents the development of serious diseases or complications in the insured population.
The Health Revolution continues to be one of the flags of this government, seeking the well-being of the people of Magdalen.
