The first two meetings of the Transforming Schools Network training cycle began, aimed at selected teaching teams. The initiative is developed by the General Council of Education (CGE), in collaboration with the Banco Entre Ríos and Grupo Petersen foundations.

They are aimed at strengthening and promoting quality and educational innovation at the secondary level of Entre Ríos.

The first two training meetings took place this Monday at the D40 Doctor Enrique Carbo Institute; and in Secondary School No. 36, former Commerce No. 1 of the city of Paraná, to which Language and Mathematics teachers from public and private management, technical and agrotechnical secondary schools, from the departments of Paraná, Villaguay, Victoria, Nogoyá, Diamante and Tala.

The day was divided into two parts in both institutions: in the morning with basic cycle teachers; and in the afternoon with oriented cycle teachers.

“We thank the teachers for the commitment made this year and next. The purpose is to think and rethink how to improve methods and teaching, not only in the territory, but also within the classroom,” highlighted the CGE secondary level director, Omar Osuna.

The program includes a total of six meetings, three in person at different provincial headquarters; and three virtual. The next training will take place on Tuesday, in La Paz; on Thursday, in Concordia; and on Friday, in Gualeguaychú.

The Somos Red team trainers, Silvina Maciel, Darío Tuffilaro and Brenda Steeb, together with the technical team of the level directorates, guided the activities that included the presentation of objectives, the addressing of key concepts such as the portfolio as an evaluation instrument; the teaching role and diagnostic evaluation, among other aspects relevant to the transformation of secondary school in Entre Ríos.

The program, which will initially benefit 50,000 students in the province, is extended this year to 200 public and state-run secondary schools, involving 1,400 managers and teachers in training processes, both in-person and virtual.
