Some damage to the roofs of the Rafael Jaramillo school in Risaralda, which was caused by the weekend rains, forced the authorities to order the evacuation and closure of the school. Students were sent to telework.

The Risaralda Risk Management Unit (Caldas), ordered in the last hours evacuate and close the Rafael Jaramillo educational headquartersattached to the Francisco José de Caldas school, of the Betania path.

The above is due to the fact that said educational establishment suffered a roofless in most of its classrooms. The damage was caused by the weekend rains.

While the infrastructure is being repaired, the rector of the institution, Ricardo Aparicio Serrano, decided on Saturday night send about 140 students to telework who receive classes at Rafael.

The manager mentioned that The headquarters suffered serious damage to its roof and infrastructure. and ones material damage to files, stationery, teaching and technological material.

“On Saturday and after an arduous day of rescuing the assets that could have been left in service, we received a visit from firefighters and Risk Management officials, who They ordered the evacuation and closure of the main headquarters”.

The squad will remain closed until repairs are madewhich guarantee the safety of students and officials.

The rector mentioned that the closure and teleworking were agreed with the Secretary of Education of Caldas. “God help us and allow us to find the resources to fix the damage,” Aparicio concluded.

The Ministry of Education and the Municipality of Risaralda are evaluating the damage, to define during the course of this week what repairs they need to make to Rafael.

A teacher from the Rafael Jaramillo school recorded the destruction on video. “Here I’m taking where the tiles went to fly, this roof was not damaged, but the other was destroyed. The agricultural area suffered damage, it is clearly visible. The roof of the administrative offices was blown off, the kitchen area was left unroofedbathroom glass broke.
