The academic qualification of the Faculty of Law includes the activities carried out by all its members of the academic faculty during the years 2021 and 2022 and analyzes the fulfillment of each profession in Teaching, Research and Extension. according to their schedule and hierarchy.

The report indicates that the decision to dismiss Renato Garín for failure to fulfill his academic duties is an exceptional measure, which was taken in different instances by “20 professors from the highest hierarchies of our Faculty (Law) of the University of Chile.” .

The Academic Qualification Commission of the University of Chile highlighted that it presented this background taking into account comments posted on social networks that “intend to give the impression that a decision has been made affecting Mr. Garín González’s freedom of expression.”

“The truth is that there is a process that began in 2023 to which all academics submit, which has determined that Mr. Garín did not fulfill his teaching activities during the years 2021 and 2022,” they clarified.
