A new medical report establishes that Diego Maradona (60) died on November 25, 2020 due to “cardiorespiratory arrest secondary to acute pulmonary edema caused by left ventricular failure, in a short-term agonizing condition, estimated to last in minutes or at most in a few hours.” This comes one month after the start of the judgment, which will have eight suspects.

The conclusions were presented by the forensic expert Pablo Ferrari, official expert of the Buenos Aires Supreme Court, in the expert advice of San Isidro. It was requested by the lawyer of the accused Leopoldo Luque, Julio Ribas; and that of the accused Agustina Cosachov, Vadim Mischanchuk.

The first and only report that there was on the death of the star so far was that of the Medical Board prepared by the Scientific Police, which had indicated heart failure with agony of up to 12 hours, and that is why they had concluded that his death had been foreseeable. and that the medical actions were “deficient, inefficient and indifferent.”

Based on this, the neurosurgeon Luque and the psychiatrist Cosachov, along with six other people, are accused of being judged for simple homicide with possible intent, with sentences of 8 to 25 years. That is, they should have represented that Maradona He could die and they did nothing to prevent it.

Now, this latest report supports another hypothesis that it was not agony, but rather an abrupt event.

According to the study by the forensic expert Ferrari, before the Oral Criminal Court 3 of San Isidro, the former player had an “acute ventricular arrhythmia of organic origin or due to the external action of an element other than the natural one, not being able to rule out the presence of a toxic substance unrelated to therapeutic drugs.

In that sense, the expert recalled that Diego had a “history of consumption”.

In addition, it denounces an irregularity regarding urine samples once the autopsy was performed hours after November 25, 2020.

According to him, 300 milliliters were extracted to be examined, but only two tubes arrived at the laboratory, measuring 12 millimeters each and with signatures attached to them that are “illegible.” This would be insufficient to analyze the case and therefore the seriousness of what was indicated, according to the sources consulted.

The former coach died at the age of 60. He suffered from alcohol addiction problems and had been admitted to a clinic in the city of La Plata on November 2, 2020, due to anemia and dehydration. A day later he was transferred to a sanatorium in the Buenos Aires town of Olivos, where he underwent surgery for a subdural hematoma.

On November 11 of that same year, he was discharged and moved to a house in a private neighborhood of Tigre, where he was under the care of a group of doctors and nurses, but he finally died two weeks later.

At the moment of death, Maradona He was directing Gimnasia de La Plata, where he had assumed his position in September 2019.

They are charged to go to judgment the neurosurgeon Luque, the psychiatrist Cosachov, the psychologist Carlos Ángel Díaz, the doctor Nancy Edith Forlini, the nurses Gisella Dahiana Madrid and Ricardo Omar Almirón, their boss, Mariano Perroni, and the clinical doctor Pedro Pablo Di Spagna.
