The festivities in Holguín for May Day, International Workers’ Day, are marked by the joy of 26 entities from the eastern territory that have achieved the distinction of National Vanguard Collective, awarded by the Cuban Workers’ Union (CTC).
On this occasion, groups belonging to 11 unions of the 15 present in the province were distinguished, with the Construction sector standing out in number of Vanguardia centers, with the UEB Gibara of the Médano Company, the Engineering Services Transfer Company, the Services to Workers (Garbo), the UEB Comprehensive Construction Brigade of Conam and the Construction Company of Engineering Works No.16 in Mayarí.
The Transport union has also been greatly honored with four outstanding units, including the state MSME Meca V, the UEB Catering, Commerce and Gastronomy Airport, the International Airport “Frank País” and the UEB “Rafael Freyre” of Transferraz.
Other sectors such as Tourism and the Food Industry and Fishing have three Vanguardia groups each; while Industry, Culture, Energy and Mines and Public Administration have two; At the same time, Commerce, Agriculture and the Sugar Industry each have one representative.
Among those honored for their outstanding economic and union performance in 2023 are hotels such as Gran Muthu Almirante and Brisas Guardalavaca, as well as the entities Servisa Holguín, Hilandería “Inejiro Asanuma”, el Poligrafico, Artex Holguín, Subsidiary of the Cuban Fund for Cultural Assets, Asertec, UBPC «January 28» and the Industrial Products Marketing and Services Company «La Universal».
The Mining Equipment Maintenance and Repair Workshop of Moa Nickel SA, the Nickel Research Center (CEDINIQ), the UEB Food Producer and Distributor “Calixto García”, Alimatic Oriente, Habana Club Internacional have also earned the union banner. , the Provincial Legal Services Company and the UEB Casa se Alojamiento Expo-Holguín.
