At the request of the Huila Health Secretariat, the first session of the Territorial Council of Social Security in Health was brought forward, where medical authorities and managers of healthcare centers presented their respective action plans in the search for resources and co-financing to improve care. , infrastructure and services in their respective institutions.

With the participation of hospital managers and municipal ESCOs, the first session of the Territorial Council of Social Security in Health was held, an entity that contains all the institutions committed to improving the quality of medical-care services in the department of Huila. .

This first day focused on the socialization of the respective action plans that the health institutions have defined and the knowledge of the legal regulations that can be used to implement said processes aimed at obtaining resources for the healthcare centers of the department of the Huila.

“We have met in this Territorial Council, precisely to begin the process of learning about the programs and projects that each of the health institutions have defined within their action plan, with the idea of ​​being able to support from the departmental government these initiatives that They seek to improve the quality of medical care throughout the region,” said the Secretary of Health of Huila Sergio Mauricio Zuñiga.

For those attending the Territorial Council, this meeting is of utmost importance given the need to build the 2024-2025 biennial plan, which is nothing other than the roadmap for the completion of projects and execution of resources focused on the improvement of the quality of services, infrastructure and others for the health sector of the department of Huila.

“This plenary session of the Territorial Council of Social Security in Health is part of the process of constructing the biennial plan that commits hospitals, municipal ESE, health centers and of course the departmental authorities who together have the mission of improving in all areas the attention, the quality of service of all institutions. Here we have already analyzed several projects that are being studied for feasibility and in this way send them to the Ministry of Health for their corresponding economic allocation,” said Cristóbal Castro, advisory member for the users of the department of Huila.

Improving the quality of health services

This first session was also attended by the managers of the hospitals of Neiva, La Plata, Garzón and Pitalito, as well as the managers of the municipal ESCOs of a good part of the 27 municipalities of the department of Huila.

For the managers of the healthcare centers, the idea of ​​being able to jointly build the action plan to improve the quality of health care becomes fundamental in the idea of ​​consolidating the viability of the projects so that the healthcare centers can become in tune with the new demands and consolidate greater coverage of the population.

“We are in the line of humanizing and improving health. Governor Rodrigo Villalba Mosquera has given clear instructions of the urgency of improving the provision of service to users at all levels. Today the construction of infrastructure and the provision of healthcare centers is essential. As managers, we are presenting the projects, putting them up for consideration so that they are viable. These projects seek to improve the level and quality of both emergency care and health specialties,” said Dr. José Antonio Muñoz, manager of the Hospital of the municipality of La Plata.

The projects are subject to study and evaluation and to the extent that compliance is verified in the technical presentation, they will be made viable and support and co-financing will be sought for the initiatives with the greatest impact and benefit for the communities of the region.
