Rogelio Frigerio: “It is important that the Senate ratifies the half-sanction” of the Bases Law

The governor of Entre Ríos, Rogelio Frigerio, was satisfied with the half-sanction that the Bases Law and the fiscal package obtained in Deputies, and in that sense he requested that the Senate give final sanction to these initiatives.

“There are important advances in terms of labor modernization and investments. It is important that the Senate ratifies the half-sanction of Deputies and gives the President the tools to be able to govern and manage,” said the Entre Ríos president, who participated this Wednesday in the opening of sessions led by the governor of Santa Fe Maximiliano Pullaro.

“We need to generate more certainty and the sanction of Bases and the fiscal package go in that direction. Of course there is still a long way to go, but there is progress. Argentina needs a tax reform and change its tax matrix. That’s the next challenge. Eliminate distortive taxes that encourage investment and private production,” Frigerio said.

“In Entre Ríos we have made a tremendous adjustment to political spending, eliminating privileges entrenched in power for decades. Yesterday we delivered credits to the field and production. Fiscal adjustment is essential but we cannot leave aside the productive forces that generate foreign currency, employment and development,” he concluded.

The law was supported by 142 national deputies, including five from Entre Ríos: Beltrán Benedit (LLA), Marcela Antola (UCR), Atilio Benedetti (UCR), Pedro Galimberti (UCR) and Francisco Morchio (HCF).

Meanwhile, Gustavo Bordet (UP), Carolina Gaillard (UP), Tomás Ledesma (UP) and Blanca Osuna (UP) cast their votes for the refusal.

It is assumed, in this scenario, that Alfredo de Ángeli (PRO) and Stella Olalla (UCR) will accompany the initiative, since the governor of Entre Ríos responds. The Peronist Edgardo Kueider is, for the moment, one of the senators who is not confirmed in his rejection and could be decisive.
