The Libertad concert is approaching. The will to freedom starring the duo Muñoz (flute) – Butt (piano). It will take place on Tuesday, May 14 at the Salta Foundationlocated at General Güemes 434, organized by the Salta Branch of Mozarteum Argentino.

The selected program will include works by renowned composers such as Mel Bonis, David Braid, Clara Schumann, Sofia Gubaidulina and Amy Beach. From classical pieces to contemporary premieres, each work will be performed with passion and mastery, promising a unique musical experience for everyone present.

Tickets are now available at General Güemes 434. General admission for the concert is $8,000, with the possibility of purchasing them in advance. Those who prefer to buy their tickets at the door on the day of the concert can do so for a value of $10,000.

The concert will present a program that will include the following works: Pièce. A flute soupire. Scherzo by Mel Bonis (1858-1937); The Bird Fancyers New Delight by David Braid (1975); Three Romanzas op. 22. Andante molto. Allegretto. Leidenschaflich Schnell by Clara Schumann (1819-1896); Allegro Rustico by Sofia Gubaidulina (1931); and, Sonata for flute and piano. Allegro Moderato. Scherzo – Molto vivace. Allegro con fuoco by Amy Beach (1867-1944).

About the artists

María Cecilia Muñoz, Flute

Argentine flutist, awarded in numerous international competitions such as the “Beijing Nicolet”, China; “Carl Nielsen”, Denmark; “Aeolus”, Germany; “Crusell”, Finland; “Jeunesses Musicales de Belgrade”, Serbia; among others.

He performed as a soloist with the orchestras “Festival Strings Lucerne”, Basel Symphony, Basel Chamber; Düsseldorf Symphony, Nürnberg Symphony, Mendelssohn Chamber Leipzig, Deutsche Kammerakademie; Saint-Petersburg Cappella Symphony Orchestra, among others.

Under the baton of conductors of the stature of Pierre Boulez, Peter Eötvös and Heinz Holliger, it was presented in venues such as the Berlin Philharmonie, Konzerthaus Berlin, Tonhalle Zürich, Konzerthaus Dortmund, Tonhalle Düsseldorf, etc.

Recorded and produced by the German record label ARS-Produktion, in 2013 his debut album “Couleur” was released with pianist Tiffany Butt and in 2014 his next solo album “Konzerte” with the Basel Chamber Orchestra. He is currently actively working on his next production.

He has been a member of the Stable Orchestra of the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, Argentina since 2013 and collaborates in Switzerland with various orchestras. She was recently selected as a member of the Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra.

Tiffany Butt, Piano

Canadian pianist Tiffany Butt has enjoyed an extensive career as a soloist, lieder recitalist, chamber musician, and collaborative performing arts artist around the world; performing at such prestigious venues as the Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, the Gulbenkian in Lisbon, De Doelen in Rotterdam, the Berliner Konzerthaus, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin and the Helsinki Music Center, and performing with orchestras such as the Basel Symphony Orchestra and the Kamerorkest in Rotterdam, among many others.

It has been recorded and broadcast by Radio Suisse Romande, Swiss Radio DRS, TeleBasel, Radio Holland Netherlands and the Yle Finnish Broadcasting Company. In 2013 she also recorded for the German label ARS, the CD “Couleur” with María Cecilia Muñoz on flute, with whom she is currently working on her next production.

Tiffany also works in the field of sound engineering, which she studied at the Zürcher Hochschule der Künste. In November 2022, she performed as a soloist and arranger at the Stadtcasino auditorium in Basel, with a sold-out grand concert “A Basel Night at the Proms”.

This duo formed by two artists with international careers, Tiffany Butt on piano and María Cecilia Muñoz on flute, has been working hard for almost 20 years.

Together they recorded the CD “Couleur” for the German label ARS, which was recommended by Bayerische Rundfunk and obtained excellent reviews from the international press. They also made important presentations in numerous cities in Switzerland and Germany, among which the “Konzerthaus” in Berlin and the Swiss National Radio stand out; and in Argentina in venues such as the Salón Dorado of the Teatro Colón and the Usina del Arte, among many others.

In 2024, his latest production “Libertad” The Will to Freedom, also produced by the German label ARS, is released in Europe.

This unique collaboration between two internationally renowned artists promises to be an unforgettable experience for all music lovers.
