The Colombian Football Federation (FCF) officially announced the hiring of Cesar Torres as the new coach of the Colombian men’s under-20 team.

Torres’ career as technical director began at Centauros de Villavicencio between 2007 and 2008, having also directed teams such as Universitario de Popayán between 2012 and 2018, Deportes Quindío in 2013, Alianza Petrolera, recently renamed Alianza FC, in two periods (2020 and 2023-2024), in addition to working with Jaguares FC from 2021 to 2022, Cortuluá in 2022 and Bogotá FC in 2023.

In addition, Torres has accumulated experience as a technical assistant under the direction of Luis Alberto Suárez, Nelson Abadía and Arturo Boyacá, which enriches his profile as a coach.

Taking on the position immediately, Cesar Torres will be in charge of directing the destinies of the Colombian Men’s Under-20 National Team with a view to its participation in the CONMEBOL South American Under-20 Championship in 2025, to be held in Peru. This tournament is not only one of the most prestigious events at the youth level in South America, but it will also serve as a qualifier for the FIFA World Cup in the category.
