After the heavy downpour that occurred on the afternoon of this Friday, May 3, the rainwater channel in the El Caney neighborhood, in the south of Cali, overflowed. Several videos published on social networks show flooding on roads in the area.

Through X (formerly Twitter), A user reported that the water canal in the El Caney neighborhood, on Carrera 48 between Calles 80 and 86, overflowed. The images show that several private vehicles, motorcycles and buses from the Massive Integrated of the West, MÍO, had to travel through a flooded street.

From the Cali Volunteer Fire Department they recalled that the rain gutters overflow due to the irresponsible disposal of waste. For this reason, they called on citizens not to throw garbage into these channels.

According to citizen reports, other roads in the south of the capital of Valle del Cauca such as Avenida Cañasgordas have also collapsed due to heavy rains. For this reason, firefighters recommend Cali residents drive carefully.

So far, two trees have fallen: one on Carrera 99 with Calle 3 Oeste, in the Altos de Santa Elena neighborhood, and another on Calle 56i with Carrera 49c, in the Llano Verde neighborhood. An accident was also reported in the city center, possibly related to the downpour.
