International Seminar for Peace (+ Podcast and Video) – Radio Guantánamo

Guantanamo.- With the inauguration of an exhibition of creative posters from the Cuban Association of Social Communicators, the VIII International Seminar for Peace and the Abolition of Foreign Baseswhose main headquarters are the Mariana Grajales Coello Revolution Square in the city of Guantánamo.

More than 90 delegates, including about 70 foreigners from about 25 countries, participate in the event sponsored by the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People (ICAP) and the World Council for Peace, which makes Cuba the sixth most populated city every year. two years, in the world capital for peace.

Present at the event were the Governor of Guantánamo, Alis Azahares Torreblanca, the member of the Provincial Bureau of the PCC, Zenia Lores Méndez, the Hero of the Republic of Cuba and president of the ICAP, Fernando González Llort, and Iraklis Tsavdaridis, Executive Secretary of the World Council for the peace.

Fernando González Llort, president of ICAP, highlighted in the opening words of the event that in the face of the challenges of the current international situation, actions are required throughout the planet that contribute to the strengthening of peace, justice and the sovereignty of nations.

On the other hand, Francisco Javier García Llop, representative of the international secretariat of the People’s Communist Party of Spain, highlighted that the level of violence used by imperialism corresponds to the desperate situation of capitalism to maintain its world hegemony.

“This is an irrefutable, scientifically proven example of the great contradictions that the system itself develops in the material area, consciousness and ideology, and which thus justify its commitment to war.” – stated the Iberian politician.

The closing of the Seminar is scheduled for this Sunday the 5th in Caimanera, a territory bordering the illegal Yankee naval base located here for more than 120 years against the will of the Cubans, where the final declaration and proclamation for world peace will be made public.
