With the aim of coordinating efforts in critical areas such as early childhood, education, health and productive investment, Governor Rogelio Frigerio met with representatives of the United Nations System.

During the meeting, Rogelio Frigerio highlighted the importance of carrying out precise diagnoses to improve public management: “It is essential to know where we are starting from to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of the policies we implement, since what is not measured cannot be changed.” He noted that several agencies present at the meeting can collaborate on this aspect, which he considered crucial to moving forward.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations (UN) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), highlighting the importance of adapting these objectives to local needs. “It is essential to territorialize the 2030 Agenda to focus on the specific priorities of the people of Entre Ríos,” she stressed.

The governor pointed out that aligning provincial policies with these global objectives will not only contribute to a more inclusive and equitable sustainable development, but will also ensure that the benefits of progress reach all sectors of Entre Ríos society. He assured that this approach is crucial to maximize the impact of interventions in key areas such as health, education and local economic development.

Early childhood and mental health

He also expressed his intention to strengthen the early childhood table to develop policies that promote early childhood development, especially in the most vulnerable sectors. “This is where we need to focus our attention,” she said.

Likewise, the president indicated that mental health is another of the great challenges, especially after the impact of the pandemic, and stressed the need to work on sexual and reproductive health issues and teenage pregnancy.

At the meeting were the president of the Chamber of Deputies, Gustavo Hein, and the ministers of Human Development, Verónica Berisso, and of Economic Development, Guillermo Bernaudo, among others.

Also participating were the resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Argentina, Claudia Mojica; the representative of the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in Argentina, Luisa Brumana, and delegates from various specialized agencies such as the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), UN Women, UN AIDS, the Organization of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Population Fund (Unfpa).

The United Nations System in Argentina is made up of 22 agencies specialized in various topics that provide cooperation at both the national and provincial levels. In 2015, member countries agreed and agreed on comprehensive financing for development.

The focus of its work is the 2030 Agenda, which has 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG). The agenda has various goals and indicators that seek to eradicate poverty, combat inequalities and promote prosperity, while protecting the environment, by 2030.

The resident coordinator of the United Nations System in Argentina, Claudia Mojica, described the meeting as extremely fruitful, noting that it was an opportunity to align visions and explore how the organization she represents can contribute from its technical specialization. “This is part of a broader effort to territorialize sustainable development to meet the specific needs of each province and municipality in the country,” she highlighted, reaffirming the commitment of the United Nations System to support Entre Ríos on its path.

In turn, the representative of Unicef ​​Argentina, Luisa Brumana, highlighted the continuous cooperation in the province, especially in early childhood, through the United Municipality for Children and Adolescents (MUNA) initiative, which is already implemented in five municipalities. .
