The number of unemployed registered in the Employment Offices of La Rioja fell by 354 people last April, 2.58 percent less compared to the previous month. This placed the total number of unemployed at 13,354, according to data published this Monday by the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy. The rate stands at 8.2 percent.

In Spain, the number of unemployed people registered in the public employment services offices fell by 60,503 people in April compared to the previous month, which represents a decrease of 2.2 percent in percentage terms.

In the case of La Rioja, the unemployment rate stands at 8.2 percent, four tenths lower than the previous month. Regarding the interannual rate, there are 792 fewer unemployed people registered with the INEM than in April of last year, which represents a decrease of 5 percent compared to a year ago.

By sectors, unemployment has decreased in all sectors, with Services and Industry, with 132 and 123 fewer unemployed, being those in which it has decreased the most in April.

Next, there is Agriculture, which leaves 86 unemployed, compared to 12 in the group Without Previous Employment and one in Construction.

Thus, in general, of the 13,354 unemployed that La Rioja had at the end of April, Services, with 8,451, continues to be the sector with the highest number of unemployed, followed by Industry, with 2,163, and Agriculture. , with 1,060.

Next is the group of Without Previous Employment, with 943, and closing the list with 737, the Construction sector.

Regarding unemployed foreigners, the region has 2,666, with a decrease of 104 unemployed people compared to the previous month, 3.75 percent less.

Meanwhile, in the interannual calculation, it has decreased by 144 people, 5.12 percent less. The majority, 1,691, come from non-EU countries, while 975 are from EU countries.
