Livestock reconversion projects, forest conservation, recovery and protection of water sources will be some of the projects that can be carried out in second law areas.

These are some of the conclusions that emerged in the recent meeting with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of the Environment and also with WWF International Cooperation, which seeks to finance the production chains in the department of Guaviare. Juan Carlos Álvarez, Secretary of Agriculture and Environment, stated in Marandua Noticias.

The Secretary of Agriculture indicated that Governor Yeison Rojas signed an important agreement with WWF to promote the sustainable development and economic growth of the department of Guaviare over the next 4 years.

This agreement establishes specific lines of cooperation, including the strengthening of territorial planning, road connectivity, environmental governance, community tourism, productive reconversion, “sustainable livestock and agriculture” and the implementation of joint actions to continue the development of the Guaviare.

This is achieved after great articulated work between WWF and the Government through the Guaviare Administrative Planning Department (DAPG).

Leaders of the productive chains of intensive livestock farming, cocoa production, and non-timber forest fruits were very attentive to the proposals made by the National Government to begin with this proposal, which will be previously subjected to a characterization to identify the properties that would be in conditions to execute the productive chains in the Guaviare.
